Teachers: Bring AP Gov to Life in the Classroom
Our Know the Now videos help high school teachers link AP Government concepts to recent events. Teachers can use them to spark discussions, reinforce content, and encourage critically thinking about politics today.
Meet the PBG
By Day: A Poli Sci Professor
My name is Dr. Dan Butler. I earned my PhD in political science at Stanford University. I have worked as a professor at Yale University, the University of California San Diego, and now Washington University in St. Louis. I study American Politics and my books include Representing the Advantaged and Rejecting Compromise: Legislators’ Fear of Primary Voters (both published with Cambridge University Press). I also serve as the department’s Director of Undergraduate Studies.
You can find out more about me and research at my professional website.
Funding has been provided by the Frick Initiative at Washington University in St. Louis to promote civic education

My AP Gov videos are all available on YouTube at the Poli Sci Brick Guy Channel. You can also find them organized by topic under the A.P. Gov Videos tab.
